Dr. Ahmet Uysal is is a political sociologist interested in studying Iranian-Arab-Turkish relations. Dr. Uysal graduated from the Middle Technical University's sociology department. He received his master's and doctoral degrees in the Southern Illinois University, USA. He taught in the sociology department of Dumlupinar University (2005-2009) and in the international relations department of the Eskişehir Osmangazi University (2009-2013). He founded and directed the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at the same university (2011) before moving to the Institute of Middle Eastern Studies at Marmara University, Istanbul.

Dr. Uysal lived in Egypt just before the Revolution and has recently published a book on Turkey's Image before and after the Revolution in Egypt. Dr. Ahmet Uysal began to work on the idea of bringing Arab, Iranian and Turkish scholars together. He has coordinated Arap-Turkish Congress of Social Sciences in various countries and wants to extend this academic cooperation among Turkey, Iran and the Arab world. He follows the developments in Iran and the Arab world and works to improve understanding and cooperation on academic and social levels. Along with his native Turkish, he speaks English, Arabic and some French. He writes and/or comments on Turkish and Middle Eastern affairs in national and international media such as Aljazeera, Al-Arabia and BBC.
